Bridging the Global Gap in Pathology – One Diagnosis at a Time: Did you know that in Sub-Saharan Africa, there is less than one pathologist for every 100 million people? In stark contrast, the United States has around 65 pathologists per million. Countries like the UK, US, India, China, and Iran lead the world in pathology coverage—while vast regions across the globe are left behind. This is more than a statistic; it’s a life-altering gap in access to essential diagnostic care. It means millions of people go without timely diagnoses, proper treatment plans, and the chance for better outcomes. We believe that’s unacceptable. That’s why we created the Diagnexia Pathology Outreach Programme. It's a global initiative, driven by purpose, built to transform access to pathology expertise in LMICs. Our mission is simple yet profound: to bring equity in diagnosis to where it’s needed most.

We’re uniting an elite global network of pathologists, who donate their time, skills, and compassion to make real change. Through pro bono and low-cost diagnostic consultations, we deliver life-saving insights to patients who might otherwise go unseen. We’re not stopping there. We’re scaling education and capacity-building with thousands of hours of high-quality, accessible teaching—through CPD-accredited series, international symposia, podcasts, webinars, and more. We’re also publishing peer-reviewed pathology training cases and supporting digital scanner placements in hospitals across LMICs—empowering local pathologists with tools, knowledge, and mentorship.

How can you help? This role directly contributes to saving lives. If you’re passionate about global health equity, believe in the power of education, technology, and community to break barriers, and want your work to have a global impact—this is your calling. Join us. Help shape a world where access to diagnosis isn’t a privilege, but a human right.
