About the role: As part of the Diageo Global Innovation team, you will join the Packaging Innovation Team based at our Bishop’s Stortford Innovation R&D Centre, playing a contributory role in shaping the future of packaging across our global brand portfolio. In this role, you will oversee the 3D printing and prototyping facilities. Operating in a fast-paced, multi-project environment and collaborating with a cross-functional team of marketers, engineers, sensory specialists, and liquid developers to bring ideas to life. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of packaging innovation, transforming cutting‑edge technologies into tangible prototypes and live concepts for Diageo’s internationally recognised brands. Your work will directly contribute to the development of next‑generation packaging solutions and the future direction of our product portfolio.
Role Responsibilities:
- Concept generation for (and sometimes as a result of) ideation sessions within the Innovation team.
- Support innovation teams on development and visualisations of early‑stage concepts.
- 3D modelling and rendering to visualise concepts.
- Management of the in‑house 3D printers and prototyping suite (All training provided).
- Production of pack designs using the Adobe Suite.
- Prototyping from ideation to high fidelity 3D printed labelled models.
- Working on both fast pace and long‑term projects with cross functional teams.
Experience / skills required:
- A working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- An understanding of 3D modelling software (Preferably Solidworks).
- Proficiency in 3D rendering software (Preferably Keyshot).
- Good freehand sketching skills.
- An understanding of prototype model making and finishing to a high standard.
- An understanding of manufacturing capabilities and limitations.
- The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be proactive and have the ability to manage their own work and time to meet deadlines.
