About the role
This role is based at Diageo’s Shieldhall packaging site. Shieldhall packages a huge volume of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits and ready to drink brands to supply over 170 countries around the world and is a key manufacturing site within the Scotch supply category.
As a Senior Operator, you’ll play a pivotal role in the whisky production from tanker intake operation to finished product in bottling vats.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and optimise our production processes to always maximise our performance.
- Maintain a safe and organised workplace environment through adherence to the Safety and 5S MMS practices.
- Drive performance of the equipment within process area for example, lead & participate in root cause analysis (RCA), fault finding & recovery, lead & participate in productivity initiatives.
- Work with site engineering to play a proactive role in situational problem solving on shift, and contribute to reviews of ways of working including risk and work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), etc.
Shifts
As a Weekend Senior Operator, you will work 30.5 hours per week working Friday 11:30 – 18:00, Saturday and Sunday 07:00 – 19:00.
About you
We’re looking for someone who can work well within a team as well as the ability to make effective decisions and thrive in situations where they can solve problems. The successful candidate will have proven knowledge of Health and Safety and environmental risk principles.
In addition, we’re looking for:
- Experience in a high-speed production environment.
- Reliable and self-motivated to consistently deliver high standards.
- Experience and understanding of compliance procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to all levels across the plant.
- Ability to organise a variety of tasks and prioritise self and others accordingly.
- Able to work as individual but also part of team. Have meticulous attention to detail.
Health and safety compliance is key, and you’ll be at the forefront of making sure this is supervised alongside other key performance indicators and targets including production quality, production efficiency, energy management, production planning and cost efficiency.
