The Senior Communications Manager leads change communications efforts within the worldwide employee involvement group, developing and delivering communications that drive cultural and structural change. The role supports transformation projects, change processes, and leadership capability building focused on change and transformation. It works closely with the CRLT, market CR colleagues, the finance leadership team, and other senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main communications adviser for global strategic change programmes and coordinate with other communications colleagues to ensure clear, consistent messaging for employees during transition.
  • Lead the delivery of communications for the Accelerate Programme alongside Strategy and Transformation, conducting high‑level briefings and aligning cross‑stakeholder communications.
  • Provide change‑communications input to internal content for leaders, support selective announcements, media handling, and briefing training with the CEO and CFO.
  • Act as independent lead for the Transformation CFO initiatives and a connector within various change‑communications processes.
  • Coach and upskill communications team members in professional development and change‑communication work.
  • Provide counsel to senior management and executives during key moments, ensuring a timely, consistent, and effective response to mitigate reputational risk.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7–10 years of corporate and financial communications experience, ideally with employee engagement.
  • Demonstrable experience navigating complex change processes, engaging leadership teams, and delivering clear, consistent messaging under high pressure.
  • Strong integrated communications experience, including content and digital channels.
  • Outstanding writing, presentation, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across all levels and influence at senior levels.
  • Experience working in a highly commercial environment; understanding of Diageo’s commercial drivers is an advantage.
  • Track record of delivering performance within a matrixed, complex, multi‑stakeholder environment.
  • Resilience, determination, and strong functional and behavioural skills.
