About The Function - GB has a strategy rooted in people, purpose, and performance with an ambition to be a £2bn NSV business which will involve growing notable market share of TBA. This is a bold ambition which will require best in class revenue growth management, commercial effectiveness, route to market capabilities to ensure GB has the optimum go to market plan to win internally via the P&L, win externally via market share and also enable our customers to create category value.
Role Dimensions - The role has responsibilities for categories and brands, across channels and customers, and covers commercial planning, customer planning, sales performance management, Commercial Strategy and the 5 RGM levers. RGM Managers are decision makers on the sub-channel success models on pack, price, place and promo and are responsible for building medium- and long-term plans to achieve market share ambitions, drive net revenue maximisation and profitable growth. Working in partnership with Brand Marketing and Commercial, they will build the commercial plan through the lens of sub-channels – the plan that drives what, where and how we implement.
Top Accountabilities:
- Partner with the Head of RGP for the category to develop an integrated commercial plan for Diageo GB that combines the needs of brands, channels, customer and Diageo’s short- and long-term market share and financial goals.
- Aid in the development and deployment of competitive, share winning and revenue growing pricing and promotional strategy that fulfil shopper metrics.
- Build a bank of M&E, creating a deep understanding of the end-to-end value of customer investment and building benchmarks for ongoing optimisation.
- Work with sales teams and commercial finance controllers to ensure adherence to the pricing policy, ensuring appropriate governance and controls are in place for all customer investment.
- Support the commercial teams to develop investment cases that deliver revenue and margin expansions and facilitate the approval process.
- Support RGM sprints to define revenue and margin enhancement opportunities around pack, price, promotion, channel and embed into the commercial plans working closely with the Category Strategy & Development, Shopper, Consumer and Customer marketing teams.
- Support the performance management rhythm, working closely with BPM, finance and customer marketing to course correct the commercial plan in year.
Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities:
- 5+ years cross-functional experience in sales and category in FMCG.
- Commercial Strategy & Planning / NRM Experience a plus.
- Well-developed and proven financial numeracy, analytical and core-selling skills.
- Time management & prioritisation skills.
- Can build powerful relationships and work collaboratively within a team.
- Problem solver & driven teammate.
- Being able to excel when dealing with ambiguity, complexity and working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and matrixed environment.
