Purpose of the Role
Work with a central cross-functional laboratory team to ensure critical analysis for BioEnergy is accurately informing key decision making by providing guidance in the analysis and interpretation of results to improve operational performance. Support and coach Lab and Operational teams to understand best practice concerning sample control, testing, calibration and standards. Establish and govern sample and analysis routines to best support operational priorities. Demonstrate expertise in analytical methodologies to aid problem-solving and unlock performance and improvement initiatives for operations. Lead the development, validation and introduction of new methodologies and instrumentation to shape the future of Cameronbridge BioEnergy Plant. Champion excellence in process and analysis data reporting for BioEnergy RUN business processes. Ensure OCAPs (Out of Control Action Plans) are up-to-date with key analysis steps. Build working relationships between the lab and business leaders, understanding the business strategy and priorities across operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Demonstrating an uncompromising strive to ensure standards in Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and productivity in the lab and operational areas are upheld and deliver against agreed service levels.
- Support the lab in working towards and maintaining levels of Technician and Laboratory accreditation like benchmark laboratories in our field. Lead, encourage & develop a technical pipeline of talent to the business.
- In conjunction with laboratories in Global Brand Supply standardise and sustain codified procedures and standards to improve multidisciplinary business performance.
- Encouraging a growth mind-set to problems faced and empower people to take ownership.
- Role model the top tier and management of change. Paint a compelling vision of the future keeping abreast of laboratory and process measurement advances within the industry and scan the horizon for opportunities.
- Ensure Diageo is represented within the analytical field, develop effective relationships with research institutes and committees like SWRI, IBD, MAPS & DAPS.
- Engage In Society 2030 initiatives across the business.
Entry level requirements – skills and experience
- Similar experience and a great track record in a world-class FMCG production/ manufacturing, or, any similar environment.
- Practical experience gained through senior roles in analytical laboratories.
- Recognised subject matter expert in analytical and experience of development of best practices, standards and techniques.
- Expert knowledge and experience with the following analytical chemistry methods & technique; Wet Chemistry, GC, HPLC, ISE, AA.
- Experience with Minitab, PowerBI and other data visualisation tools.
- Degree level qualification or equivalent in a scientific-related discipline or qualified through relevant experience.
As a temporary contractor, you'll be employed by our Managed Service Provider, Magnit Global, who manage most of our temporary contract hiring, you will not be employed by Diageo.
