As a Performance Improvement Lead (PIL) at our 24/7 Runcorn site, you’ll partner with Packaging Team Leaders to deliver measurable improvements in OEE, changeovers, and waste reduction — while developing your own leadership potential with a clear path to Area Manager.
The Impact You’ll Make
You’ll partner with Packaging Team Leaders (PTLs) to embed a culture of Zero Stops, Zero Waste, and continuous improvement. This role is about real influence — shaping behaviours, improving processes, and ensuring changes stick.
You’ll share accountability for your line’s Safety, Quality, Cost, and Service performance, with a sharp focus on:
- Reducing changeover times and OEE losses
- Eliminating long/short stops and waste
- Deploying and coaching Manufacturing Excellence practices sustainably
What You’ll Do
- Mentor and support PTLs to implement Manufacturing Excellence effectively and consistently
- Drive priority improvement projects using lean manufacturing techniques (e.g., Root Cause Problem Solving, DMAIC, PDCA)
- Analyse loss/waste data, validate findings, and agree clear improvement priorities
- Coordinate training and coaching for Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques (e.g., 5S, set-up reduction, Autonomous Maintenance and Focussed Improvement)
- Lead task forces and line teams to ensure improvements are standardised and sustained
- Leverage digital technology to accelerate and sustain change.
- Actively engage in daily/weekly operational reviews to share insights and drive action
What You Bring
- Strong background in FMCG, brewing, or other high-speed packaging/process environments
- Experience in leading teams in a shift environment
- Proven success leading cross-functional improvement projects
- Hands-on experience with tools such as 5S, set-up reduction, Autonomous Maintenance, and structured problem-solving
- Sharp analytical skills to turn complex data into actionable improvement plans
- SAP knowledge preferred
