This role will play a crucial part in developing and executing social media strategies that amplify our brand presence and connect with consumers at every touchpoint.

Purpose of Role

The Global Category Social Manager will lead social media initiatives for Diageo’s Beer and Liquor brands. This role focuses on implementing the social media operating model across the brand ecosystem, whilst driving brand consistency, performance, and compliance with Diageo's marketing standards. You will collaborate with global teams, regional hubs and local teams regularly to optimize and scale great work in owned social media, optimizing investment and minimizing risks. You will set brand social strategy and enable diversification across social platforms with purpose.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement social media best practices and operational standards across Beer and Liquor categories globally.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and performance improvements in the social media operating model.
  • Ensure all digital assets within the brand ecosystem adhere to compliance standards for social media marketing.
  • Partner with market and agency to increase the adoption of social media tools and strategies, ensuring content is social first and rooted in consumer insight and data.
  • Foster a community of practice within the organization to share insights, enhance social media understanding and scale for efficiency.
  • Set and govern brand guardrails to ensure consistency is maintained across social channels.
  • Optimise brand visibility on social for share of LLM and within evolved shopper journeys.
  • Measure, report and drive continuous improvements of social performance.

Competencies & Skills

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in social media and marketing, preferably in CPG or beverage alcohol sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of the digital ecosystem with the ability to engage across various platforms and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex information.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and maintain attention to detail.
  • Strong influencer with the capability to communicate effectively with senior audiences and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Energetic, results-driven, and a collaborative team player comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge and focus on performance, and track record of using data to inform decision making and strategy.

As a temporary contractor, you'll be employed by our Managed Service Provider, Magnit Global, who manage most of our temporary contract hiring, you will not be employed by Diageo.
