Within Marketing & Commercial A&P, the Digital, Data & eCommerce category creates value to enable growth and margin through joinedâup strategy, sourcing, negotiation, return on investment optimisation and relationship management executed through holistic thought partnership and crossâfunctional influence to find the effectivenessâefficiency sweet spot for our Advertising and Production investments.
This category is sophisticated, with varying partner needs. The role's prime accountability is to drive value by partnering as a thought leader with the Consumer Digital Transformation team and ensuring commercial elements are implemented thoughtfully with suppliers and agencies. This requires leading sourcing strategies to improve overall value and return on investment whilst minimising risk and assuring quality of delivery and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead sourcing strategies that improve value and return on investment; ensure thoughtful, outcomesâbased implementation of commercial elements of spend with suppliers and agencies while promoting the highest standards of ethics and compliance consistently.
- Deliver and harness benefits through excellent demand, relationship, and contract management.
- Play a key role in developing and driving Diageo's digital, data and eCommerce transformation, articulating the journey and vision to align collaborators, connecting across the business through the unique external and crossâbusiness view procurement brings, and using data to unlock new verticals of value.
- Partner with global marketing and digital teams driving transformation of Diageo digital practices. Bring understanding of marketing science, analytics, eCommerce, and adâtech systems to provide vital expertise.
- Lead and enhance Diageo's understanding of the agency/partner landscape, supply chain, innovations, and technologies; provide external benchmarks to drive value.
- Create programmes that deliver productivity targets; run joint objectives and KPIâbased reviews with suppliers/agencies; agree development plans to lift performance.
- Extensive experience in procurement/marketing procurement OR digital/eâcommerce with understanding of how commercials can be constructed to enable growth and drive value.
- Proven procurement rigor in digital/marketing services (strategy, sourcing, contracting, supplier performance).
- Strong digital & eCommerce fluency (B2C, D2C, social commerce) with a value/return on investment lens.
- Commercial + tech acumen across CRM/CDP, MarTech, and commerce platforms; can translate capability into clear commercial terms.
- Literacy in measurement (incrementality/iROAS/MMM) and partnering with Finance.
- Comfort with commercial models (SLAs, outcome/bonusâmalus) across SaaS/PaaS.
- Fluency in marketing science, analytics, eCommerce, and adâtech systems and the contracting levers to inform commercial choices.
- Proven ability to partner crossâfunctionally, align collaborators, and operate in transformation contexts. Comfort and ability to drive progress in ambiguity / new spaces.
- Responsible AI/GenAI awareness in sourcing and contracts (data, IP, bias, safety).
- Stakeholder influence at senior/Câsuite level; clear writing and decision framing.
- Experience with retail media/platform or MarTech providers; nearshore/offshore choices.
- Ability to synthesize ethics, compliance, diversity & sustainability in contracts/QBRs.
