Production Operator, Runcorn

Permanent, Full Time (42hrs/week)

About The Role

Our Guinness packaging facilities in Runcorn produce canned, bottled and kegged product for Ireland, the UK and export markets. It is an 18‑acre site with 2 bottling, 2 canning and 1 kegging production line. Our team has an outstanding passion for what they do, and due to growth we are looking for a number of driven and diligent individuals to bring their own unique contributions to the team. As a Production Operator within our packaging team in Runcorn, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that operations are carried out to the highest standard and in adherence to Diageo’s health and safety, environmental and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform operational tasks and support continuous improvement, applying autonomous maintenance and quality skills.
  • Operate bottling line machinery following standard operating procedures.
  • Reduce setup times and perform autonomous maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, inspecting, lubricating and resolving issues.
  • Conduct effective shift handovers.

  • Can work well within a team, make effective decisions, and thrive in problem‑solving situations.
  • Has strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to communicate with all levels across the site.
  • Has ambition and aims to support Team Leaders and possibly aspire to become a Team Leader in the future.
  • Can push forward own ideas about improvements to current approaches and appraise new opportunities, striving to make a positive difference to manufacturing excellence and demonstrating excellent communication skills.

Shifts

This role involves working a 42‑hour week on a continental day/night shift pattern, which includes two weekend shifts per month. You’ll be contracted to a suite of flexible shift patterns, and your working hours will adjust according to the pattern you’re assigned.
