About the Role
Our site is expanding into new food and beverage product categories, introducing different food safety risks, controls and ways of working. To support this transition, we are creating a new Food Safety role focused on developing and embedding a practical, fit‑for‑purpose food safety approach across operations. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping food safety standards within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, supporting new products, processes and operational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support the site Food Safety strategy and management systems.
- Apply HACCP, GMP and food safety controls across manufacturing operations.
- Support risk assessments for new products, materials and processes.
- Maintain audit readiness and support both internal and external audits.
- Lead or support investigations, corrective actions and root cause analysis activities.
- Promote strong hygiene, cleaning and food safety standards across the site.
- Deliver food safety guidance and training to operational teams.
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering and Projects to support safe and effective change.
About You
- Experience working in food, beverage or FMCG manufacturing environments.
- Good understanding of food safety principles, HACCP and GMP.
- Experience working with Food Safety Management Systems and audits.
- Practical and confident in operational manufacturing environments.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Able to influence behaviours and support a positive food safety culture.
- Degree‑qualified in a relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of recognised food safety standards and audit requirements (GFSI‑recognised or equivalent).
- Experience supporting audits, investigations and corrective actions.
- Ability to translate food safety requirements into practical operational controls.
- Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
- Organised, pragmatic and able to manage issues through to resolution.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and cross‑functional working skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with evolving priorities.
