About the Role

The Experience Support Team are critical for the day-to-day tour and tasting experience operations at the Johnnie Walker Brand Home. This position is responsible for stock control, coordinating equipment and supplies preparation, setup, and clean-up of all front- and back-of-house areas that support the tour and tasting experience to ultimately deliver memorable experiences for our guests.

Our Experience Ambassadors will facilitate the end-to-end customer journey throughout our Brand home site entertaining visitors from around the world and providing an outstanding visitor experience.

You’ll bring to life the art of whisky making and the heritage of our brand by guiding groups throughout various interactive tour experiences and tastings. In addition, you’ll be responsible for ticketing, admissions, information services and booking of tailored visitor experiences throughout our Brand Homes across Scotland.

You’ll engage with visitors on both an individual and group basis, interpreting customer interests and providing information to build a personalised experience. Our Experience Ambassadors are our brand advocates and you’ll thrive with sharing Brand home stories with our visitors and be passionate about encouraging them to discover the delights of Scotch whisky, highlighting specific home sites to whisky experiences across Scotland.

Responsibilities

  • Possess thorough understanding of all tour and tasting experiences’ equipment and supply needs.

  • Complete continuous setup and cleanup of tasting rooms and areas for each experience offering; work quickly to reset tasting equipment and supplies throughout various experience areas between each group rotation

  • Maintain clean and orderly visitor-facing areas.

  • Ensure sanitation and cleaning requirements are followed at all times.

  • Continuously monitor tasting equipment and supplies inventory.

  • Accurately record stock levels at the set times in each support area.

  • Assist with ensuring that storage rooms are clean, organized, properly stocked.

  • Monitor tour guide timing to ensure timely rotation.

  • Respond promptly to visitor and staff needs.

  • Complete assignments in a timely manner and within Johnnie Walker Brand Home’s standards.

  • Understand and follow all established operating procedures to exceed operational requirements and ensure visitors and staff receive the highest standards of quality, safety, and service at all times.

  • Have a working knowledge of fire extinguisher and first aid kit procedures.

  • Maintain continued interest in the Johnnie Walker Brand Home’s exhibits and educational content to better fulfill your duties.

  • Adhere to all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards.

  • Assist in the training of new staff.

  • Maintain good attendance and communicate with supervisory staff on scheduling issues.

  • Participate in educational opportunities for personal growth and development, including cross training opportunities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as rotating into other areas like Bar/ Retail to support.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience in hospitality, food & beverage, or wine/spirits industry.

  • Deep enthusiasm for whisky and its use within cocktails.

  • Strong Team Player

  • Strong desire to learn more about the Johnnie Walker Brand Home whisky story, brand, and its characteristics.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Excellent Time Management skills.

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Fluent Spoken English, Additional languages are beneficial.

  • Be guided by a customer-first attitude.

  • Be familiar with visitor experience standard methodologies and procedures.
