The Sustainability Data and Digitisation Lead sits in the Global Sustainability Data Assurance & Auditing Team. Our vision is to enable the delivery of our Sustainability goals by driving process excellence and digital transformation, optimizing systems, data and reporting, ensuring adherence to internal controls, best practices, & statutory requirements, as well as adapting to evolving external & partner requirements.
About the Role
Diageo's Supply Chain & Procurement function is undergoing an exciting digital transformation, bringing new capabilities, tools, processes and ways of working. At the heart of this transformation is data - enabling us to drive better decision-making, strengthen governance and deliver our ambitious Spirit of Progress goals.
As part of the Sustainability Data Assurance & Auditing Team, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering our sustainability digitisation roadmap. As we collect increasing volumes of sustainability data across Diageo and our network of more than 30,000 suppliers, you'll help ensure we have the digital products, systems and processes needed to meet evolving ESG reporting requirements, including regulations such as CSRD and UK SRS. Your work will support accurate, auditable data, robust controls and meaningful insights that enable informed business decisions.
The primary purpose of this role is to manage and enhance our sustainability systems, strengthen our digital capabilities and simplify ways of working through improved data and digitisation outcomes. You'll provide business leadership across strategic sustainability digital transformation programmes, ensuring initiatives are successfully delivered and continue to support Diageo's sustainability ambitions.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the business coordination and continuous improvement of Microsoft Sustainability Manager, ensuring reporting requirements, data quality, process standardisation and stakeholder alignment are delivered, while driving enhancements to improve analytics, reporting automation and business insights.
- Partner with Sustainability subject matter experts, reporting teams, Digital and Transformation teams, and external vendors to deliver readiness for CSRD and other evolving ESG reporting requirements.
- Own the business requirements and implementation of new sustainability indicators across key systems, including Microsoft Sustainability Manager and Enablon, while developing advanced dashboards, reporting and predictive analytics to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Lead the design and implementation of automated data quality checks, strengthening the accuracy, auditability and control of sustainability metrics.
- Develop and maintain global standards for sustainability reporting, including clear verification and reconciliation processes, while supporting future systems integration and simplification.
- Own and maintain the Sustainability Digital Strategy roadmap, ensuring initiatives are prioritised in line with business value, regulatory commitments and strategic objectives.
Experience / skills required:
- A degree in Business, Sustainability, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Experience working within sustainability, with an understanding of digital sustainability strategies and transformation.
- Experience working across cross-functional programmes and teams within a global environment.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and bring stakeholders on board with change.
- Highly analytical, with strong attention to detail and the ability to develop and implement robust processes and controls.
- Experience collaborating with remote teams across different cultures and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience using sustainability systems, such as Microsoft Sustainability Manager, Enablon, Sitka or Altruistiq.
