Justerini & Brooks is seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Buyer to join the team on a six-month fixed term contract. This is a pivotal role within the buying function, responsible for maintaining and developing key supplier relationships while ensuring the seamless creation and execution of compelling commercial offers.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of international suppliers, acting as a primary point of contact and ambassador for Justerini & Brooks.
- Oversee buying responsibilities across key regions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to source wines that align with the company's quality standards and commercial objectives.
- Create, plan, and execute customer offers, ensuring they are commercially compelling and aligned with brand positioning.
- Write and proofread offer copy to a consistently high editorial standard, maintaining the tone and authority expected of Justerini & Brooks.
- Work closely with internal teams including Sales, Marketing, Logistics, and Finance to ensure smooth execution of campaigns and stock management.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and competitor activity to inform buying decisions and offer strategy.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all administrative processes are handled efficiently and with attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a buying role within the wine trade, with strong product knowledge across key European and New World regions.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce polished, engaging, and accurate offer copy.
- High level of attention to detail, particularly in proofreading and commercial accuracy.
- Confident interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally.
- Experience working cross‑functionally, with a collaborative and problem‑solving approach.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance quality, value, and brand positioning.
- Desirable: French and other language skills would be advantageous, though not essential.
- Professional, personable, and credible, with the ability to represent the business with authority.
- A proactive and adaptable attitude, able to step into a fast‑paced role and quickly make valuable contributions.
