About The Role
As a Market Service Owner based in our Glasgow office, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods across global markets. This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise effectively, and a collaborative attitude. Reporting to the Logistics Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including market contacts, production sites and third-party freight service providers. Your role will be central to understanding the unique needs of each market and ensuring these are met through effective planning and communication. You’ll handle the full freight process, selecting the most appropriate services at the best value, while also handling pre-shipment requirements, PO creation, freight quoting, billing, and investigation. A proactive approach to resolving export-related issues and a strong understanding of market-specific products and requirements will be crucial. In a structured environment, you will implement a customer-centric approach to service delivery, upholding high performance standards across our logistics operations.
About You
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values collaboration and is passionate about delivering great service. You’ll bring a positive, solutions-focused approach and a desire to work as part of a supportive, high-performing team. To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:
- Experience working in a logistics environment, preferably within exports
- A strong understanding of freight documentation and terminology
- An attitude centered on discovering solutions, with the drive to address challenges and achieve results
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across teams and external partners
- A collaborative, "one team" attitude - working together to achieve shared goals aligned with business objectives
- Understanding of SAP (advantageous but not essential)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
