About the role
This role is based at Diageo’s Shieldhall packaging site. Shieldhall packages a huge volume of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits and ready to drink brands to supply over 170 countries around the world and is a key manufacturing site within the Scotch supply category.
As an Electrical Engineer within our team at Shieldhall, you will play a pivotal role in the maintenance, repair, problem solving and improvement of all assets across our site as well as supporting installation, commissioning and testing within the site.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with site personnel to ensure effective maintenance development, delivery, and continuous improvement across the site.
- Coach the Operations team on spirit supply issues, offering insights and support to enhance team capabilities.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to optimise asset performance and utilization.
- Ensure all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks are completed according to schedule and to the required standard.
- Respond promptly to plant breakdowns, address root causes, and minimise downtime.
- Report maintenance outcomes in SAP to facilitate best practice sharing.
Shifts
As a Weekend Electrical Engineer, you will work Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 7 pm with rotating nights from 7 pm to 7 am
About you
We’re looking for someone who is time served with a recognised SVQ Qualification, hands-on apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Drive and strong commitment to driving manufacturing excellence and demonstrate exceptional analytical skills to effectively solve problems.
- Proven experience in a production or chemical environment and able to demonstrate understanding of asset performance and maintenance.
- Experience in data analysis, use of applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and business systems such as SAP, desirable
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk principles.
- Knowledge of working in the FMCG industry, desirable
- Can work well within a team as well as the ability to make effective decisions and thrive in situations where they can solve problems.
- Holds strong interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to communicate with all levels across the site.
- Able to push forward your own ideas about improvements to current approaches and appraise new opportunities. With a strive to make a positive difference to manufacturing excellence and show your excellent communication skills.
