About the role: We operate Guinness packaging facilities at Marshalls Road in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Runcorn, in Northwest England, packaging canned, bottled and kegged product for Ireland, the UK and export markets. This role is site based at Diageo’s east Belfast packaging facility which is a 12-acre site running a 24/7 operation and is supplied with beer from St James Gate brought to the site in bulk tankers, which each hold up to 30,000 litres of beer. The site packages over 20 brands, including Guinness Draught, Extra Stout and Foreign Extra Stout, Harp, Hop House 13, Smithwick’s and Rockshore.

As an Operator at Marshalls Road, you’ll be responsible for the quality control of the line, operating packaging machine processes whilst following standard operating procedures for machine operation and set up time reduction as well as preparing the line for shift handovers. In addition, you will perform autonomous maintenance tasks including clean, inspect and lubricate and respond to issues. Health and safety compliance is key, and you’ll be at the forefront of making sure this is monitored alongside other KPI’s and targets including quality, hygiene, waste and efficiency.

You’ll be able to demonstrate the following:

Experience working in a production environment would be beneficial but not a must-have for this role. Training will be provided. Skills and proficiency are things that matter to Diageo, and so we’d love to hear from candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and experience who are passionate about transferring those skills and experience into a packaging environment.

Shifts: This role requires you to work a 42hr week continental day / night shift pattern. x2 12-hour days, x2 12-hour nights with 4 days off. Repeat.
