Position Summary

The FP&A Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the quality and timeliness of both internal and external financial reporting whilst ensuring a robust internal control framework is in operation.

Building key stakeholder relationships is important within finance and through the organisation.

All of these deliveries to made against a backdrop of ensuring compliance with all internal SOP's and external legislation, regulation and best-practice against which we are measured.

This role is ideally suited to someone wanting to see, do and understand all aspects of how an innovative and high-growth listed company finance department works and will offer the opportunity to learn and progress as the company and department continue to expand.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and support all aspects of day to day finance operation, including transaction processing for accounts payable, expenses, credit cards and accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and journal processing.
  • Support month end close and management accounts preparation including but not limited to: balance sheet and control account reconciliations, revenue recognition, accruals, prepayments, intercompany reconciliations and fixed asset register completion for multiple entities.
  • Support the completion of monthly Board packs for CFO including company P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow financial statements.
  • Support business partnering across various departments in the group, assist with delivering credible and insightful financial information and actively participating in business decision-making
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, working capital management and corporate strategy.
  • Support VP of Finance and FP&A Managers in operations of finance department.
  • Assist with completion of all group tax returns including but not limited to VAT, US Sales & Federal taxes and Corporation Tax.
  • Help prepare the annual statutory accounts and interim financial statements, ESG and other statutory returns and help drive successful audit processes.
  • Ensure that Group finance policies are followed and refreshed on a continuous basis in order to comply with a fast changing operating environment.
  • Other ad hoc finance related tasks which are key to the department and business meeting its strategic and shareholder objectives.

  • Knowledge and Specialist Skills
  • Education - Recognised full professional accounting (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) preferable but part-qualified will also be considered.
  • Experience - At least 2 years in professional accounting environment; experience in industry is preferred but not essential.

Skills: Strong attention to detail, an understanding of business along with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels to advise and liaise with senior members of staff, including non-accountants.

  • Current technical reporting knowledge: A solid foundation of basic accountancy skills including an understanding of UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS.

Understanding of basic tax legislation to include direct and indirect taxes.

  • Computer and software Knowledge and Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite incl.

Excel, Word and Power Point.

Experience of ERP systems including Sage Intacct preferred but not essential.
