We're looking for an enthusiastic, relationship-focused and community-minded Engaging Communities and Volunteering Officer to help us grow our reach and impact across Northern Ireland.
This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with volunteers, community groups, healthcare professionals and local partners to strengthen community connections, amplify lived experience and ensure people affected by diabetes can access support, information and opportunities to get involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with community organisations, healthcare providers and local stakeholders.
- Develop community engagement opportunities that increase awareness of diabetes and support healthier communities.
- Support the delivery of community-based projects, campaigns and events.
- Recruit, train, support and develop volunteers across Northern Ireland.
- Work with volunteers and partners to co‑design and deliver activities that meet local needs.
- Engage with people from diverse backgrounds, ensuring seldom‑heard voices are included and represented.
- Gather feedback, evaluate impact and share learning to continuously improve our work.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR and organisational policies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across DiabetesUK to maximise opportunities and impact.
