DHU Healthcare is looking for a GP Receptionist/Administrator to join our welcoming team at Bowling Green Street Medical Practice, Leicester β playing a key role in delivering excellent patient experiences and supporting our clinical teams.

Salary: Β£23,875 per annum (band 2)

What Your Typical Day Looks Like:
Opening and preparing the reception area ready for patients from 8am, ensuring all systems and facilities are ready to go
Welcoming patients warmly, handling enquiries, and explaining surgery procedures
Managing telephone calls with professionalism β transferring to the right team member, recording requests for home visits, and offering follow-up calls to patients who did not attend
Booking, amending, and managing patient appointments
Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, patient records, and daily post
Maintaining accurate data entry using SystmOne and other digital tools
Keeping the reception and waiting areas tidy, welcoming, and organised
Supporting clinical and management colleagues with administrative tasks as required
Following confidentiality and data protection protocols at all times
Assisting in closing procedures β securing the building, systems, and patient records
Reporting any issues, concerns, or notable incidents promptly to the Practice Manager
To Be a Successful GP Receptionist/Administrator, Youβll Need:
Essential:
High level of administration experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
Accuracy, attention to detail, and good organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to provide cover for colleagues when needed
Previous experience in a healthcare or GP practice setting
Knowledge of primary care systems, particularly SystmOne
Understanding of NHS processes and appointment systems
