Position: Transport First Line Manager (Nights)
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday 18:00-19:00 starts flexi
Location: Stoke on Trent ST4 4DG
DHL, award winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport FLM to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
Role Purpose:
- To coordinate and provide support and information in the running of safe and efficient operation, working within clear guidelines to help achieve the operational standards and defined outcomes for your area of responsibility during shift.
- Responsible for the execution of transport plans ensuring transport and network SLA\βs/KPI\βs are achieved.
- FLM\βs are front and centre of the transport operation demonstrating 21st century driver engagement and management.
- In addition to being a duty manager, the FLM is a driver line manager ensuring the wellbeing, performance and motivation of their team through regular performance dialogues, scheduled 1-2-1\βs as well as ad-hoc communication and engagement.

Requirements:
- Transport Office experience preferred
- Line management capabilities
- Transport legal compliance
- H&S compliance, ensuring and promoting the best H&S Standards using safe, sound check lists, safety conversations and Gemba problem solving processes β
- Good communication skills (verbal & written)
- Supervisory skills β managing individual performance/absenteeism/conflict and development
- Commercial Awareness (impact of KPI\βs) β
- Shows passion, right first time attitude, can do approach and respect to others
- Good numerical skills
- Good degree of IT literacy
