DHL Supply Chain is the world's leading logistics company and one of our fascinating contracts involves us running warehouses inside of prisons. On a weekly basis, inmates have the opportunity to order basic goods, like shampoo and chocolate, that they pay for with their own funds. At DHL, we manage the picking, packing and distribution of these orders. We're now looking for a Warehouse Team Leader based inside of HMP Prison Whatton who will play an integral role in the prisoners' lives, working with a diverse team to support their rehabilitation.
A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE:
- Leading a group of prisoners in a warehouse environment, whilst also being hands on with picking and packing.
- Reconciling stock levels within the warehouse operation (based on-site at the prison).
- Managing the delivery of accurate and timely dispatch of orders to the inmates and ensuring operational targets are met and exceeded.
The role is based within a category C prison. You will be required to undergo an enhanced security vetting process if you are to be successful for this position.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
- Must have three years of UK address history to meet enhanced security clearance requirements.
- Must have full right to work in the UK with no restrictions (we're unable to offer sponsorship now or in future).
- Are happy travelling to nearby prisons within a 40-mile radius, it's essential to help deliver exceptional service.
- Are comfortable working in a secure prison environment, alongside inmates.
- Can be confident speaking up and guiding prisoners when needed.
- Make the safety of everyone on shift a key focus.
- Good at communicating firmly, fairly and clearly.
- Have a good understanding of warehouse processes - but we will teach you the whole job.
Pay Rate: £27,496.46 per year
Grade: RCS O
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time), 40 hour working week
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday, (start times between 07:00-08:00)
