Job Purpose: We are seeking a Head of Insurance Tax, Regulation & Compliance (IRM) to lead and oversee the implementation of insurance regulation, law, and tax compliance plans across all IRM job families, business processes, and insurance distribution channels worldwide. In this role, you will develop, implement, and maintain DHL policies and procedures that meet all applicable insurance laws, regulations, and tax obligations, while aligning with business needs, internal and external compliance standards, and the global regulatory framework. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior management, guiding decision-making and ensuring our multinational insurance programs operate within the highest standards of compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement global compliance plans, frameworks, and standards, considering business plans, risk exposure, and applicable laws.
- Deliver programs, processes, and tools to strengthen compliance with IRM and DHL protocols and international regulations.
- Monitor and analyse new and pending insurance laws, tax regulations, and directives impacting the organization.
- Conduct country-by-country audits of insurance placements, reinsurance arrangements, and insurance product distribution. Identify hidden risks and provide corrective action recommendations.
- Ensure BU processes, SOPs, documentation, and operations comply with national and international insurance distribution directives.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external service providers, and regulatory bodies to secure expert guidance and enforce compliance standards.
- Organise, maintain, and report compliance metrics; recommend improvements, training, and policy enhancements.
- Stay current on local and international legal matters affecting compliance and insurance regulation.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
- 7+ years within the same international insurer or insurance broker in compliance, regulations, multinational insurance program setup, insurance tax compliance, and insurance distribution.
- Recognised as a subject matter expert in insurance regulation and tax compliance.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.
- Experience from an international environment would be a great advantage.
