As Gateway Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of Stansted Gateway operations, ensuring freight is processed safely, efficiently, and on time in line with global standards and network schedules. You'll challenge the status quo, drive continuous improvement, manage costs, and champion new technologies and ways of working – all while maintaining world‑class service quality. This is a senior operational leadership role with genuine influence across the wider network.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Stansted Gateway operational activities to meet service and performance targets
- Collaborate with senior DHL Express operations leaders on cluster‑level initiatives, SLAs, and operational improvements
- Monitor and minimise the impact of network disruptions on customer service
- Drive productivity improvements while strictly managing costs within budget
- Ensure full adherence to GSOP, ISO Quality & Environmental standards, RQMS, and the Global Security Framework
- Oversee operational security procedures and ensure compliance with all local legislative requirements
- Champion continuous improvement, introducing new technologies and processes where appropriate
- Build, develop, and inspire high‑performing teams, ensuring succession planning and contingency coverage for critical roles

Qualifications
- Proven people management and leadership experience, ideally within aviation, logistics, or complex operational environments
- Strong knowledge of Gateway and Ramp operations at an airport

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage across cultures and seniority levels
- Strategic, analytical, and commercially aware, with confidence to challenge existing ways of working
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise, plan, and make dynamic operational decisions
- Must meet the criteria for Airport Pass clearance
- Full UK driving licence required
