Location: Southern Hub, Colnbrook - SL3 0BB.
Hours: 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday (Night Shift) with varied start times between 18:00 and 23:00.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced colleague to join DHL as a Driver Trainer on a night shift in this key operational role. You will help maintain and improve driving standards across the network by delivering driver assessments, providing remedial training, and supporting accident investigations, ensuring full compliance with DHL policies, legal requirements and safety standards.
- Leading Driver Training & Development
- Conduct driver assessments for both agency and full-time employees to maintain high operational standards.
- Deliver remedial training following incidents and accidents to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching and guidance to drivers on driving performance, safety and compliance.
- Support telematics training and monitoring to reinforce safe driving behaviours.
- Ensuring Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Carry out accident investigations, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Tachograph regulations, Working Time Directive and all driving legislation.
- Promote high standards of health & safety, identifying and addressing risks proactively.
- Ensure all training and operations align with DHL standards, DVSA requirements and company policies.
- Supporting Operational Delivery
- Plan and manage your own workload across multiple routes to meet operational demands.
- Conduct vehicle checks, driver briefings and practical training activities where required.
- Support operational teams with specialist guidance on driver performance and best practice.
- Maintain a professional and consistent DHL image when interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong driving experience and deep understanding of transport regulations.
- Excellent communication skills; can coach and assess others clearly and confidently.
- Organised, self-motivated with ability to manage workload effectively.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing operational demands.
- Full UK driving licence (minimum 3 years experience), with C1 and relevant certification (e.g., DCPC).
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a driving, training or operational role.
- Strong knowledge of road transport legislation, DVSA standards and safety processes.
- Excellent organisational, communication and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines across multiple locations.
Important Shift Requirement
This role operates on a night shift pattern; flexibility is required to meet the needs of a 24/7 operational environment.
