Key Responsibilities

  • Give advice and guidance to line managers on all complex people management issues.
  • Utilise ER case management tool, ensuring accurate recording of cases and analysis of trends within relevant business unit.
  • Create, deliver, and adapt Employee Relations / basic employment law related training on a regular basis.
  • Work closely with internal and external employment lawyers on complex cases.
  • Keep up to date with employment law changes and HR trends and advise accordingly where applicable to DHL.
  • Work with key stakeholders to deliver all LEADS processes – Evaluation, Development Planning & Succession Planning, supporting the identification of employees with potential.
  • Deliver & facilitate development & training where required.
  • Act as a change agent, supporting organisational change in line with the business strategy e.g. relocations, restructures and TUPE transfers.
  • Identify and provide development solutions to build organisational capability, reviewing skills gaps and training needs for line managers.
  • Add value by proposing, planning, and implementing process improvements or simplifications where possible.
  • Manage projects that support improvement within their business area.
  • Support & encourage the usage of people-related digital solutions, such as Smart Connect, E-HR, My Talent World and more, and act as a role model in this regard.
  • Analyse people-data trends within their business area and produce people KPI reports.
  • Provide solution focussed recommendations based on that analysis and reporting.
  • Supporting managers in handling long term sickness and related absence.
  • Balance support and challenge of leaders and their teams, as required.
  • Coach line managers around people & HR matters to support these being managed effectively & consistently.
  • Develop strong and trusting working relationships with DHL Managers.
  • Strong visibility in their business area to demonstrate HR presence.
  • Build relationships and utilise their personal network within the DHL Group.
  • Plan & prioritise responsibilities effectively and support the wider HR Business Partnering team as and when required.

Experience, Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience within an HR role or leadership role with substantial people responsibility.
  • Experience as an HR Business Partner and within a large corporate environment is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree or CIPD Level 5 (essential).
  • CIPD Level 7 or Master’s degree (desirable).
  • Additional certifications such as IOSH or psychometric qualifications (desirable).
  • Strong business insight with the ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder focus and customer-centric approach.
  • In-depth knowledge of employee relations and UK employment law.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring ability.
  • Resilient and confident in handling complex situations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritise effectively and work independently.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • TUPE knowledge (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to work flexibly and remotely.
