The Account & Sustainability Manager plays a critical role in managing strategic freight and logistics customers while championing sustainability across commercial, operational, and transport solutions. This position is responsible for balancing account profitability, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service, while ensuring customer sustainability and carbon-reduction objectives are fully embedded across multi‑modal freight operations.
Working closely with senior customer stakeholders and internal DHL teams, the role drives long‑term account strategies, open‑book commercial performance, and continuous improvement. You will lead customer engagement on decarbonisation, carbon transparency, and ESG commitments, while ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, leadership, and financial control are consistently delivered.
A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE:
- Monitoring operational, service, cost, and quality performance across customer accounts
- Managing budgets, revenue recovery, and identifying opportunities for growth within existing accounts
- Leading initiatives to reduce transport carbon emissions through modal shift, alternative fuels, and route optimisation
- Ensuring accurate freight emissions reporting and supporting customer sustainability audits and RFPs
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders, leading reviews and performance discussions
- Promoting a strong health & safety culture, reviewing incidents, and driving corrective actions where required
