We’re looking for a Class 1 HGV Driver (Shunter) to join our team on a customer site, where you’ll play a key role in keeping trailer movements running smoothly and supporting day‑to‑day operations. This is a predominantly on‑site role with minimal road driving, but strong driving standards and compliance are still essential.
A Typical Day May Involve:
- Shunting trailers on‑site for the majority of the shift (around 99% of the role)
- Using a TUG to manoeuvre trailers safely and efficiently
- Working closely with the on‑site customer, maintaining a professional and positive approach at all times
- Completing vehicle checks and ensuring all equipment is safe to use
- Driving in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
- Complying with all health and safety standards and site procedures
This Role Would Suit People Who:
- Hold a valid HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
- Are confident with shunting and ideally have experience using a TUG
- Are professional, reliable and comfortable working in a very customer‑facing environment
- Can work effectively as part of a small team (you’ll typically be working alongside one other shunter)
