As an Operations Shift Manager based in Stanton, you’ll play a key role at the heart of our Warehouse Operation – leading frontline teams, driving operational excellence, and ensuring every journey meets the highest standards of safety, service, and compliance. This is a fast‑paced, highly visible leadership role where you’ll take ownership of shift performance, inspire your team to deliver best‑in‑class service, and continuously improve processes to meet customer expectations. What you’ll do:
- Supervise the running of a safe and efficient operation, working within clear guidelines to help achieve operational standards
- Manage operational performance on shift to achieve agreed key performance indicators (KPIs) on productivity, quality and cost
- Ensure workload planning and resourcing routines are accomplished to the required standard
- Complete all team performance reviews and 1-2-1s for direct reports, accurately and within timeframe
- Ensure that SOPs, work instructions and company policies and processes are being adhered to at all times
- Control absence levels on shift by robust and consistent application of absence management process
- Develop strong management capability through effective performance management, coaching, mentoring and development of teams and individuals
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with the customer, colleagues and stakeholders
What you’ll bring:
- Previous warehouse management experience at first line manager / shift manager level is essential
- Previous team management experience (1x first line manager, 15-25 warehouse operatives and admin staff)
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
- Able to challenge in the right way and influence stakeholders
- MHE operations experience would be beneficial
- Demonstrable record of delivering against targets for own area of responsibility
