We are recruiting for two roles. Depending on the position, you will need to travel regularly and maintain a strong presence across our sites in Coventry, Stoke, Northampton, Reading, Bristol, Hatfield, Walsall and Wakefield.

We are now looking for a Regional General Manager to take on one of our most influential operational roles. A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE:- Leading operational performance across multiple warehouse and transport sites, ensuring service excellence, safety, and compliance.
- Providing visible leadership to site teams: coaching managers, driving engagement, and role modelling high-performance behaviours and Zero Harm values.
- Owning the regional P&L, overseeing forecasting, month-end reviews, cost control, and implementing corrective actions to deliver financial targets.
- Partnering with senior customer stakeholders, hosting governance forums, reviewing KPIs, and aligning on future priorities and improvement roadmaps.
- Engaging with DHL senior leadership and Centres of Excellence to drive strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and digital innovation across the region.
- Anticipating capacity challenges and deploying proactive labour, resource, and contingency plans to maintain operational resilience during peaks.
- Managing the industrial relations climate, building constructive union relationships, resolving issues early, and supporting formal consultations where required.
- Making decisive calls in ambiguous situations using scenario planning, risk assessments, and clear communication to ensure stability and direction.
- Thrive in fast-paced, complex, multi-site operations and enjoy being highly visible across warehouse and transport environments.
- Are experienced leaders of large, diverse teams—comfortable coaching senior managers, building capability, and setting clear standards and expectations.
- Can confidently navigate unionised environments, maintaining constructive relationships, leading consultations, and resolving issues with fairness and clarity.
- Bring strong commercial acumen, with a proven track record of owning a regional P&L, driving cost efficiency, and making data-led decisions.
- Communicate with impact at all levels, building trust with customers, senior DHL stakeholders, and external partners while influencing outcomes.
- Stay calm and decisive in ambiguous or rapidly changing situations, using sound judgement to prioritise, simplify complexity, and lead through uncertainty.
- Are passionate about operational excellence, continuous improvement, and leveraging digital tools to drive performance, safety, and productivity.
- Are adaptable and mobile, comfortable with regular regional travel, flexible working patterns, and being present on sites when leadership matters most.
