Position: Sites First Line Manager
Location: Wansford, Peterborough (PE8 6PB)
Shift patterns: Monday-Friday. Day time hours (08:30-16:30)
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

We're looking for an ambitious First Line Manager to join our Finished Vehicle Solutions team. Responsible for managing a team of Compound Drivers and Office staff, you'll be at the heart of a fast-moving automotive operation, ensuring vehicles are handled safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives on developing people, improving processes, and delivering outstanding results for our customer and business.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Coordinate and oversee daily site operations, ensuring the effective management of daywork activities, compound movements, and end-to-end operational processes
  • Manage site operational activities to ensure the timely completion of daywork requirements, customer events, and business-critical tasks in line with service level expectations
  • Monitor operational performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions where required
  • Lead and support operational teams through effective people management, including conducting one-to-one meetings, return-to-work interviews, disciplinary investigations, and other employee relations processes in line with company policies
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through project management, process streamlining, and the implementation of operational efficiencies to enhance business performance
  • Work collaboratively with First Line Managers (FLMs) and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve shared operational objectives and deliver business targets
  • Maintain effective control of vehicle storage, compound operations, and key room management through regular audits, accurate reporting, and compliance with site procedures
  • Manage operational resourcing and administrative teams, ensuring staffing levels, productivity, quality standards, and third-party transporter activities are aligned with operational requirements and customer expectations

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

  • Previous Team Management experience within a First Line Manager/Team Manager role, is essential
  • Fleet/Automotive experience would be desirable
  • Excellent communication skills - Verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and motivation skills
  • Good balance of Results and respect approachAble to deliver results and solutions within a pressured environment
  • IT literate and able to adopt to new technologies
