Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time), 40 hours per week
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday (includes working UK bank holidays). Monday to Thursday working hours are 08:00-17:00 (8am-5pm) and Friday's are 08:00-14:30 (8am-2:30pm)
Location: HM Prison Stocken, near Oakham, LE15 7RD
PLEASE NOTE: The role is based within a men category c prison. You will be required to undergo an enhanced security vetting process if you are to be successful for this position.
A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE:
- Promoting Health & Safety in the workplace, from safety conversations through to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Leading a group of prisoners in a warehouse environment, whilst also being hands on with picking and packing.
- Reconciling stock levels within the warehouse operation (based on-site at the prison).
- Managing the delivery of accurate and timely dispatch of orders to the inmates.
- Ensuring operational targets are met and exceeded.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- You must have three recent years of UK address history (mandatory for enhanced security clearance).
- You must have right to work in the UK with no limits now or in the future. We cannot offer sponsorship for this opportunity.
THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO:
- Are comfortable working in a secure prison environment, alongside inmates.
- Can be confident speaking up and guiding prisoners when needed. This includes encouraging them to stay on task, follow rules and keep the space safe and moving.
- Make the safety of everyone on shift a key focus.
- Good at communicating firmly, fairly and clearly.
- Have a good understanding of warehouse processes - but we will teach you the whole job!
