We're now looking for a Transport First Line Manager to lead and support a small, long serving team of drivers, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient transport operations while delivering an excellent customer experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage and lead a team of drivers, including allocating work, monitoring performance, delivering team briefings
- Plan and schedule transport operations, manually routing and sequencing deliveries to ensure service and efficiency targets are met
- Oversee fleet compliance, health & safety and driver training, ensuring all vehicles and drivers meet legal, company and customer standards
- Coordinate fleet maintenance, including MOTs and servicing, and act as the first point of contact for customer transport queries
- Provide on-call cover as required, providing emergency support to drivers when needed
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Experience working in a transport or supply chain environment, suited to a Transport Clerk/Admin looking to gain more experience
- Understanding of working time directive and drivers hours is advantageous
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with confidence liaising with customers on-site and over the phone
- IT-literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (experience with SmartTime, Tachomaster or LogicS is advantageous but not essential)
- Hard working with a positive, proactive attitude; a strong team player who is hands on, helpful and flexible, and happy to support all aspects of a small operation-from administration through to customer meetings-to deliver an excellent customer experience
