Responsibilities
Our Finance Business Partners play a vital role in connecting our customers, Operations, and internal teams. Acting as the commercial heartbeat of the contract, this role provides essential insight and guidance that drives strong decision-making and ongoing contractual success.
In this position, you will be at the forefront of managing and influencing customer relationships, applying your deep commercial understanding to ensure clarity, control, and confidence across the contract.
You will be responsible for the financial and commercial oversight of a diverse portfolio of remote operating sites, each governed by unique commercial agreements and serving a variety of customers. Working closely with hub teams, operational sites, and cross-functional colleagues, you will ensure seamless alignment with the wider Business Unit and support sustainable, profitable performance.
Some of your day to day will include:
- Review month-end close for all sites under their responsibility
- Validate the development of monthly forecasts and annual budgets for assigned sites
- Approve site submissions and provide feedback
- Effectively communicate significant variances in performance against budget and forecast to senior leadership
- Facilitate lessons learned discussions and document conclusions to leverage across portfolio
- Develop and confirm site targets in support of the BU annual budget
- Present the monthly management reporting and corporate commentary to senior leadership
- Validate accounting controls and policies are applied appropriately
- Collaborates with Business development and Operations teams in the development of commercial proposals
- Ensures competitive pricing scenarios are provided to pursuit team
- Considering capital investments and financial hurdles
- Through management of team/process; manage approval process for all contract renewals and new business awards
- Actively influence ongoing decisions regarding site financial and commercial risks
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure that commercial and financial risks and exposures are highlighted
- Drive site start ups for labour tracking, capex approval, start up spend and operational site budgets
- Monitor progress of profit improvement plans for underperforming sites and determine next steps and recommendations to senior leaders
- Implement opportunities for improvement or site financial performance over portfolio.
Qualifications
What are the requirements?
- Proven track record in a similar level role with experience of the above requirements
- Ability to self-direct and manage multiple projects
- Ability to influence key decision makers at all levels, including Customers
- Excellent knowledge of accounting processes and terminology
- Relevant financial qualification (ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA) or working towards
