Note: The role is based within a prison. You will be required to undergo an enhanced security vetting process if you are successful for this position.
A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE:
- Delivering canteen supplies, ambient, chilled and frozen food into the prison services, which are palletised.
- Pushing and pulling dollies up to 200 kg.
- Completing around 3 to 4 drops per day, depending on the allocated route.
- Manual handling as required.
- Driving in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
- Complying with health and safety standards at all times, including The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations.
- Regular completion of vehicle checks.
- Manual handling of customer products.
Who this role would suit:
- Can provide three years of UK address history (mandatory for enhanced security clearance).
- Are comfortable working in a prison environment, alongside inmates.
- Are able to perform manual handling and regular heavy lifting.
- Hold a valid HGV Class 2 Driving Licence (C), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Have 12 months recent driving experience with an HGV vehicle (essential).
