Are you experienced in transport planning and passionate about delivering efficient logistics solutions? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where problem-solving and operational excellence are key?
We're looking for a Transport Planner to create and manage effective transport plans, optimise vehicle and driver utilisation, and ensure customer service levels and network KPIs are consistently achieved. You'll play a critical role in driving efficiency, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining strong relationships across operations, suppliers and customers.
A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE
- Plan and coordinate transport operations using TMS, including load building, route creation, and allocation of vehicles, trailers and drivers.
- Deliver transport plans within agreed deadlines while achieving utilisation, load fill and service KPIs.
- Monitor network performance, analyse operational data, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Manage subcontractor and agency relationships, including securing additional resource where required to meet demand.
- Build strong relationships with transport sites, suppliers, customers and operational teams to ensure service excellence and effective communication.
THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO
- Someone with transport planning experience (essential) and a strong understanding of transport operations.
- An analytical problem-solver who can make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
- A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- An organised and disciplined individual with strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and transport management systems.
- Someone with a good understanding of driver regulations and a flexible approach to support operational requirements when needed.
