HGV Class 2 (LGV Cat C) Driver – based Daventry
Pay Rate: £35,281 per annum based on a 48 hour week
Grade: P
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday – starts 05:00 – 07:00. No weekend working, do not work Bank Holidays.
Location: Will be based in Daventry from July 2026.
We're now looking for a Class 2 Driver to play a key role ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, delivering goods safely and on time.
Responsibilities
- Work to a consistently high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Operate all authorised equipment safely and correctly, in accordance with licensing and operational authorisation.
- Complete thorough daily vehicle checks and promptly report any defects.
- Report all personnel‑or equipment‑related accidents immediately to the Transport Office.
- Accurately complete all required administrative documentation, including Proof of Delivery (PODs), to required standards.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with the Transport team.
- Count and check all products against delivery manifests and complete visual inspections for damage.
- Adhere at all times to Safe Systems of Work (SSW) and defined quality standards.
- Ensure full compliance with company health and safety policies, including standards of vehicle operation and cleanliness.
- Report any product excesses, shortages, or damage to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Drive safely and efficiently in line with Drivers' Hours regulations and the Working Time Directive.
- Complete an average of 15–20 delivery drops per day in line with route plans and schedules.
- Carry out regular manual handling of tyres; the role requires a good level of physical fitness.
Qualifications
- At least 6 months Class 2 Driving Experience.
