Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Shift patterns: Monday to Friday - 45 hours a week - 9 hour shifts

Location: Bristol, BS35 4DF

PLEASE NOTE: The role is based within a prison. You will be required to undergo an enhanced security vetting process if you are to be successful for this position.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE:

  • Delivering canteen supplies, ambient, chilled and frozen food into the prison services which is palletised.
  • Pushing and pulling dollies up to 200kg.
  • Completing around 3 to 4 drops per day, depending on the allocated route.
  • Manual handling of customer products.
  • Driving in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
  • Complying with health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to the Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations.
  • Regular completion of vehicle checks.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO:

  • Can provide three years of UK address history (mandatory for enhanced security clearance).
  • Are comfortable working in a prison environment, alongside inmates.
  • Are able to work in a role that requires manual handling and regular heavy lifting.
  • Hold a valid HGV Class 2 Driving Licence (C), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Have 12 months recent driving experience of HGV vehicle; this is essential.
