Shift pattern: Monday to Friday (includes working UK bank holidays). Monday to Thursday working hours are 08:00-17:00 (8am-5pm) and Friday's are 08:00-14:30 (8am-2:30pm)

PLEASE NOTE: The role is based within a category B prison. You will be required to undergo an enhanced security vetting process if you are to be successful for this position.
DHL operates 21 prison workshops across England and Wales, where over 900 prisoners pick, pack, and dispatch roughly 64,000 orders per week for the prison retail service. We're now looking for a Warehouse Manager to continue to drive success at HMP Birmingham. You'll be responsible for supporting, coaching and leading your team based on site at the prison to deliver whilst also supporting prisoners with their rehabilitation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Operational Leadership: Provide day to day management of the warehouse operation within the prison environment, ensuring the timely receipt, processing, and dispatch of orders.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain effective working relationships with HMPPS stakeholders, including: Governors, Security, Labour Allocation, and Industries teams.
- Compliance, Security & Safety: Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety regulations, Prison Service Instructions, local security processes, and DHL policies.
- Financial & Performance Accountability: Hold financial responsibility for workshop operations, including resourcing, consumables, equipment and waste control.
- Communication & Leadership: Promote a culture of collaboration, problem solving and accountability, positively feeding into engagement.
THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO:
- Have proven experience in a Warehouse Management or similar team leadership role within warehousing, logistics, supply chain or a similar operational environment.
- Can demonstrate high levels of resilience, professionalism and adaptability.
- Are able to showcase their commitment and interpersonal skills across diverse teams and departments.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- You must have three recent years of UK address history (mandatory for enhanced security clearance).
- You must have right to work in the UK with no limits now or in the future such as British or Irish National, EU Settled Status or Indefinite Leave to Remain. We cannot offer sponsorship for this opportunity.
