Resource Planner role at DHL Supply Chain.

Position Details:

  • Location: Tyrefort, Birmingham (Operation is moving to Castle Bromwich in December)
  • Grade: RCS
  • Shift patterns: Monday–Friday. Day time hours (09:00–17:00)
  • Contract type: Permanent (Full‑Time)

In this transport-focused position, you will be responsible for optimising fleet and personnel allocation to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. Responsibilities:

  • Produce daily transport plans ensuring optimal solutions are achieved from both a cost and service level perspective.
  • Analyse data to forecast future and retrospective volumes to assess impact to freight plans.
  • Manage external carrier and agency requirements vs core fleet requirements.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders within both JLR & DHL to ensure that freight provides the customer with a best‑in‑class supply chain solution.
  • Investigate operational challenges & data discrepancies and provide solutions in a timely manner.
  • Perform data integrity checks on a daily basis to ensure driver requirements are planned efficiently and correctly.
  • Ensure all planning is executed within parameters of customer service levels.
  • Accurately manage network changes and additional/cancelled collections on a daily basis.

Qualifications:

  • Previous transport operations experience with tactical planning responsibilities is essential.
  • Previous experience in freight planning based roles would be desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of DHL systems specifically OTM & Paragon would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Strong and effective organising, planning and process work methods.
  • Strong computer literacy, with comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to demonstrate logical thinking.
