Responsibilities
- Lead the cross dock operation across transport and warehousing, managing a night shift team of ~70 colleagues through a Shift Manager
- Own operational performance, budgets and KPIs, ensuring productivity, service and cost targets are consistently achieved
- Drive a strong Safety First culture, leading incident reviews, ensuring compliance with SOPs/WIs, and embedding Behaviour Based Safety
- Manage people processes including engagement, performance reviews, absence management and disciplinary actions
- Act as the primary customer contact, building strong relationships while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence
Who this role would suit
- Proven experience in a similar operations management role within a transport, warehouse or cross dock environment
- Demonstrated people management experience at a comparable level, leading managers and large operational teams
- Experience working within a multi customer operation, with strong customer and stakeholder management capability
- Strong commercial and financial awareness, with experience of budget management and cost control preferred
- Start up or change management experience desirable, with the ability to build, stabilise and improve operations
