Role Overview
The Operations Supervisor – Industrial Projects is responsible for leading and coordinating the operational delivery, performance, and development of the Export/Import teams and a Pricing team within the Aberdeen IP function.
The role ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of project logistics and general cargo movements, supporting complex, time‑critical shipments primarily within the oil & gas and energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations across Export/Import and Pricing teams, ensuring high performance and meeting project deadlines.
- Oversee end‑to‑end delivery of complex shipments (OOG, breakbulk, multimodal).
- Ensure full compliance with SOPs, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Resolve operational challenges relating to routing, documentation, transport, and delays.
- Coordinate closely with warehouse, carriers, overseas offices, and internal teams.
- Act as a senior contact for key customers, supporting service delivery and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with Commercial and BD teams to deliver competitive, operationally viable solutions.
- Monitor KPIs, financial performance, costing accuracy, and cost control initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain high data quality standards (Cargo Wise).
- Lead, coach, and develop team members, promoting accountability and a high‑performance culture.
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Project Logistics / Industrial Projects (OOG, breakbulk, multimodal).
- Background in freight forwarding, ideally within oil & gas / energy.
- Commercial awareness including pricing, cost drivers, and margin control.
- Knowledge of compliance (customs, DG, aviation security) and Cargo Wise systems.
- Proven leadership, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prioritise and perform in a fast‑paced, operational environment.
