DHL Global Forwarding is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Operations Specialist to join our Outbound Prime Product Logistics Team in an implant capacity. This role is integral to supporting the Trade Lane Management (TLM) team in driving operational excellence across international transportation processes for Prime Products shipped from EAME facilities to global dealers and end customers.
As part of a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of international shipments, working closely with internal stakeholders, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and visible delivery of goods. Your contribution will directly impact transit time reduction, in-transit inventory optimization, and overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Execute daily Ocean and Truck bookings from Ready to Ship (RTS) through Work in Progress (WIP) dashboards, ensuring orders flow within defined service goals.
- Utilize the Transport Management Booking Tool to automate and streamline carrier bookings.
- Collaborate closely with Trade Lane Managers to monitor shipment performance and escalate impacted orders.
- Provide timely responses to dealer and customer inquiries, maintaining a 48-hour service standard.
- Proactively raise Rate Requests via Transport Management Systems to ensure transport methods are confirmed ahead of RTS.
- Maintain clean and accurate data to support real-time shipment visibility for customers and stakeholders.
- Use internal pre-planning tools (SPP) to forecast shipment volumes and provide carriers with advance visibility.
- Support the ongoing development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Engage daily with internal value streams, facilities, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure seamless coordination and execution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across transportation processes and systems.
- Proficient in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and functions.
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset and appetite for innovation.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment with shifting priorities.
