Overview
Transport Operations Manager at DHL Express UK. You will join the Southern Distribution Centre linehaul team to drive day-to-day transport operations, ensuring service, productivity, quality, security and cost targets are met, and standard procedures are followed. You will lead a team, providing ongoing development and motivation to maintain engagement and performance.
Location: Slough, SL3 0BB | Varied Shift Pattern
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain productive relationships with service centres, attending operational meetings when required
- Review daily and weekly reports for legal compliance, vehicle utilisation and service delivery
- Complete infringements, investigations and action plans
- Investigate pre-departure issues and resolve as appropriate
- Review accident and damage data to identify trends and hotspots
- Measure performance against KPI targets and build action plans to address issues
- Review resource requirements, ensuring drivers, fleet and subcontractors are in place to deliver daily and weekly schedules and resolve shortfalls
- Review daily resource plan and address issues such as short notice absence
- Resolve driver feedback queries and review fleet board scores weekly; ensure training and coaching to improve performance
- Deliver communication updates and daily briefings at agreed times
- Conduct 1-1 meetings and listening groups to address team concerns and promote career development
- Engage in daily discussions with employees to inspire performance and customer service
