As an Operations Supervisor, you will play a critical role in the day‑to‑day running of warehouse and ramp activities, ensuring operational requirements and performance standards are consistently achieved through clear direction, strong communication and hands‑on leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise and supervise daily warehouse and ramp operations to ensure safe, efficient and compliant service delivery.
- Provide daily team briefings and plan and coordinate daily sorting activity.
- Deliver the Daily Performance Dialogue Board, driving productivity and engagement.
- Coach, develop and motivate employees through visible role‑model behaviours, supporting succession planning.
- Monitor and report on supplier performance to maintain high service levels.
- Produce and analyse productivity and performance reports, identifying issues and recommending improvements to the Operations Manager.
- Set, measure and review team targets and individual objectives.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new employees.
- Lead people‑management activities including time and absence management, conflict handling, disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Conduct quarterly one‑to‑one performance and development discussions with team members.
- Supervise and control network equipment (ULDs, CMPs, G bins) to meet LHR operational requirements.
- Ensure routing and timing changes are communicated and implemented effectively.
- Cover the AM Operations Manager during periods of absence.
- Support operational project work as directed.

- Full compliance with Health & Safety, Security, ISO9002, QPulse, Customs & Excise, Dangerous Goods and DfT regulations.
- All accidents, near misses and hazards are reported promptly.
- Safe systems of work are followed and correct PPE is worn at all times.
- Risks are actively managed within your area of responsibility.
- All employees are responsible for their own health, safety and wellbeing, and for that of colleagues who may be affected by their actions or inactions. Supervisors are expected to have a thorough understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities within their operational areas.
Qualifications & Experience
- Sound knowledge of commercial airline operations (beneficial).
- Strong understanding of DHL network operations or logistics.
- Dangerous Goods Category 10 qualification (beneficial).
- IOSH (beneficial).
- Ability to pass Advanced ULD Courses.
- Demonstrated experience supervising operational teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong decision‑making ability and confidence to take operational ownership.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead positively and professionally.
- A supportive leadership style with a focus on coaching and development.
