Lead Continuous Improvement & Shape the Future of DHL Express UK

We’re looking for an inspiring and driven First Choice Manager to lead cultural transformation, embed continuous improvement principles, and champion process excellence across DHL Express UK. This is a high‑impact role that directly influences how we work, how we improve, and how we deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will engage teams across all functions, coach initiative leaders, and drive improvement initiatives that shape the way our business operates. Driving Continuous Improvement Across the Business

  • Leading Strategic First Choice Initiatives
  • Promote continuous improvement using First Choice Way principles, tools, and methods.
  • Drive cultural change by embedding CI practices through training, communication, and active engagement.
  • Lead and coach Initiative Champions and cross‑functional project teams.
  • Implement tools such as GEMBA, 5S, 5 Whys, Performance Dialogues, and DMAIC.

Using Customer & Business Insights to Drive Action

  • Use Voice of Customer (VOC), including NPA, to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage key VOC processes, including the NPA process.
  • Establish initiatives based on VOC and Voice of Business (VOB) insight.
  • Conduct in‑depth investigations to understand customer requirements and areas of focus.

Leading Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and drive cross‑functional teams to deliver large‑scale improvement projects.
  • Partner with internal and external customers to enhance their processes and build loyalty.
  • Facilitate best‑practice sharing across DHL UK and globally.
  • Ensure clear communication of First Choice progress and activities at all levels.

Enabling Sustainable Performance Improvement

  • Manage the documentation, measurement, and resolution of key improvement opportunities using DMAIC methodology.
  • Deliver First Choice DMAIC training (Initiative Champion Bronze level).
  • Support improving employee engagement and driving a positive continuous improvement culture.
  • Work closely with business leaders to embed First Choice behaviours and uplift engagement scores.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, self‑motivation, and a positive, proactive approach
  • Ability to build productive relationships in a cross‑functional, international environment
  • Experience leading major change initiatives, training programmes, or people‑focused improvements
  • Strong analytical capability and ability to develop and use reporting tools
  • Six Sigma qualification required: Lean knowledge essential
