Overview
Part time Order Distributor – 6 hours per week. Part time role working 6 hours a week, split over Tuesday and Wednesdays (5pm – 8pm).
Pay Rate: £12.85p/h (£4011 per annum)
Contract Type: Permanent
Shift patterns: Wednesday and Thursday 17:00 to 20:00
Location: HMP Kirkham – PR4 2RN
Important notice: The role is based within a prison. You will be required to undergo an enhanced security vetting process if you are successful for this position. You must be able to provide at least 3 years UK address history.

On a weekly basis, inmates have the opportunity to order basics goods, like shampoo and chocolate, paid for with their own funds. DHL manages the picking, packing and distribution of these orders.
We’re now looking for an Order Distributor who will play an integral role in the prisoners’ lives, working with a diverse team to support their rehabilitation.
A typical day may involve
- Working on the prison wing, distributing orders accurately and on time to each inmate
- Loading and unloading vehicles when orders arrive at the prison
- Complying with prison rules and regulations
This role would suit people who
- Can provide three years of UK address history (essential for enhanced security clearance)
- Are comfortable working in a prison environment, alongside inmates
- Can perform manual handling and regular heavy lifting
