We’re looking for a Business Development Lead who expects more from their career. Tesco Media is scaling our offering to non-endemic advertisers (brands not sold by Tesco – eg. Travel, Entertainment, Technology etc). Sitting within the Client Development team, we are looking for a tenacious salesperson with experience in establishing and growing new business relationships, meeting and exceeding sales targets and collaborating cross-functionally. You will be responsible for bringing this opportunity to life by identifying the relevant client stakeholders, establishing a trusted relationship and working with them to identify how Tesco Media’s proposition can help them achieve their objectives.
What you’ll be working on:
- Build and maintain client and agency relationships across target advertisers.
- Consultative and strategic selling with best in-class client service.
- Close alignment with our agency team on key clients and agency initiatives.
- Confidently pitch new opportunities to audiences both experienced in and new to retail media.
- Work closely with an Account Manager to see campaigns through from RTB to PCA.
- Continuously seek new revenue opportunities, manage your own sales pipeline & forecast to ensure ambitious quarterly and annual revenue targets are hit or exceeded.
- Identify key opportunities to engage our strategy and planning teams to create industry leading proactive pitches, responses to briefs and insights.
- Collaborate with a breadth of internal stakeholders across Dunnhumby and Tesco such as partnership teams, customer teams, legal, applied data scientists etc.
- Identify verticalised opportunities (eg. Travel, Autos, Financial Services) to build package/events to take to market at scale.
- Keeping abreast of industry developments impacting non-endemic advertisers (eg. advertising regulation changes, brands up for pitch) and identifying ways Tesco Media can support.
What we expect from you:
- Proven experience working within a media agency, media owner or client side in a media role.
- An understanding of Retail Media and Tesco Media’s position within it.
- Proven record of delivering and exceeding sales targets.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a strong sales pipeline, forecast accurately and achieve challenging quarterly and annual targets.
- A consultative style with the ability to understand clients’ business needs and position solutions in a timely and personalised way.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Commitment to delivering excellent client service and work to a high standard.
- Confident presentation skills to often senior stakeholders.
- A commercial mindset identifying areas of growth.
- A broad understanding of the media landscape.
- A team player with the ability to collaborate with internal departments and teams.
What you can expect from us:
We won’t just meet your expectations. We’ll defy them. So you’ll enjoy the comprehensive rewards package you’d expect from a leading technology company. But also, a degree of personal flexibility you might not expect. Plus, thoughtful perks, like flexible working hours and your birthday off. You’ll also benefit from an investment in cutting-edge technology that reflects our global ambition. But with a nimble, small-business feel that gives you the freedom to play, experiment and learn.
