Finance Assistant (Part-Time)

Location:St Johns Town of Dalry (Hybrid – 3 days in-office, 2 days at home)
Hours:25 hours per week, Monday-Friday (flexible start/finish times)

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be supporting the day-to-day financial administration across our international finance team, helping ensure smooth processing, accurate reporting, and timely responses. Tasks will vary, giving you a well-rounded experience and the chance to build your finance career.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with accounts payable during busy periods or staff absence
  • Managing credit card administration (applications, updates, closures)
  • Setting up projects and maintaining records in our ERP system
  • Helping prepare and issue customer invoices
  • Supporting supplier onboarding and compliance checks
  • Performing account and bank reconciliations
  • Reviewing and correcting project-related financial data
  • Updating revenue forecasts and supporting reporting activities
  • Pitching in with ad hoc finance tasks and providing holiday cover where needed

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • National 5 / GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Some prior experience in a finance or office environment
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a positive, flexible attitude
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and confidence using Excel
  • Keen interest in a finance/accounting career and willingness to learn

Desirable:

  • Studying towards AAT, ACCA or similar qualification
  • HNC/HND or degree in Finance, Business, or a related subject
  • Familiarity with accounting software like Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks
