Help Launch Intandem Dumfries & Galloway

Be part of something new. Help connect children and young people in kinship care with a trusted adult who can make a lasting difference.

Quarriers is bringing Intandem, Scotland’s national mentoring programme, to Dumfries and Galloway. Managed by Inspiring Scotland and delivered by partner charities across Scotland, Intandem is built on the power of trusted relationships that help young people grow in confidence, build resilience and realise their potential.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Mentoring Co-ordinator to help establish and grow this exciting new service.

This is a part time role working 17.5 hours per week with funding in place for three years.

What You’ll Do

You’ll recruit and support volunteer mentors, coordinate referrals and matching, build strong local partnerships and work directly alongside children, young people and kinship care families.

This is an opportunity to shape a new service from the ground up, helping ensure young people across Dumfries and Galloway can access life-changing mentoring relationships.

Why Join Us?

  • Help launch a brand-new service with lasting impact.
  • Join an established and supportive team within Quarriers.
  • Work across a diverse region, from busy towns to remote rural communities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across our Family Support, Emotional Health & Wellbeing, Parent Carer, Short Breaks and Youth Housing Support Services.
  • Play a key role in delivering relationship-based support that changes lives.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • Builds positive relationships and strong partnerships.
  • Is organised, motivated and able to work independently.
  • Can think creatively about reaching families across a large rural region.
  • Shares our commitment to children’s rights, participation and The Promise.

Practical Information

  • Based in Dumfries or Stranraer.
  • Flexible and agile working available.
  • Regular travel across Dumfries and Galloway is required.
  • Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
  • Mileage expenses paid.
  • We warmly welcome applications from people with lived experience of kinship care and recognise the valuable insight and perspective this can bring to supporting children, young people and families.

Every young person deserves someone in their corner. With Intandem, you will help children and young people in kinship care connect with a trusted mentor who believes in them, champions their potential and walks alongside them for as long as they need.

Please note: Quarriers cannot guarantee visa sponsorship for this role. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK or be able to secure this independently.
